Our owner, Brandon, is a LucasFilms Licensed Tattoo Artist, specializing in pop culture-themed realism and neotraditional designs. Classic Ink has a wide variety of resident artists, all from different walks of life: from Ringling graduates with illustrative flair to highly skilled artists with traditional roots, and fine-line black and grey artists ready to capture all the details of your next tattoo. At the end of the day, we're a bunch of diverse lovers of art that enjoy making art for a living, and we have an artist who specializes in a style just for you and your next tattoo/piercing.
Why should I choose Classic Ink?
You must be 18+ for tattoos or piercings unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a notarized consent form and current (not expired), physical ID for both minor and parent/legal guardian. There is absolutely no exception to this rule!
Per the Florida Department of Health, we require a valid government-issued physical photo ID (Ex: Driver's License, Passport, State ID) for all services.
We cannot accept military IDs as all IDs must be photographed/ copied.
Expired or heavily damaged IDs cannot be accepted. We have to be able to read your information and see the photograph.
Pictures or digital representations of ID are also not accepted.

Do you accept walk-ins?
Consultations are free and in-person with the artist of your choice between the hours of 12PM and 1PM, 7 days a week. You can also fill out our contact form or give us a call for any questions.
If you would like to know what days each week your preferred artist works, please check out their bio page on our website. Each artist at our shop has their schedule listed for your convenience.

How can I book a tattoo appointment?
There are a few things you can do to help ensure you have a great appointment. The first is to get a good night's rest the night before. The second most important thing is to make sure you eat a meal an hour or so before you come in and are well-hydrated. Lastly, wear an outfit that allows comfortable access to the portion of your body that is being tattooed. That's it! If you prefer headphones, electronics, puzzles, etc., bring them, too.
Many new clients are tempted to use numbing cream before their appointment. However, we don't recommend this unless you've spoken with your artist first. Some creams can texturize the skin and lighten/darken the pigment, which makes it more difficult to accurately create your tattoo. Ask your artist for their recommendations before buying or using a numbing cream.
What should I do to get ready for my tattoo?
If you are 16 and up you can legally be tattooed with parent/guardian consent, however not all artists at Classic Ink will tattoo minors under the age of 18. By law, the Florida Department of Health requires a notarized consent form to be completed. Parent/guardian AND minor must have a valid, government-issued ID at the time of every service. Parent/guardian on the form must be present and accompanying the minor during the entire duration of the tattoo. We cannot and will not tattoo a minor on or around any area that would typically be covered by a swimsuit.
Minors are ineligible for our online booking service and must come into our studio for an in-person consultation in order to book an appointment.
I'm under 18, can I get a tattoo?
You can come into our studio seven days a week for piercing consultations. Our piercers are knowledgeable about anatomy and will be able to give you a realistic expectation for what piercings will and won't work for you. These consultations are complimentary, and we are happy to provide them to anyone.
How do I get a piercing consultation?
Clients are limited to one friend or family member in the service areas. No one under the age of 16 is permitted in the tattoo areas.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Our piercing prices all include basic stainless steel 316L jewelry. If you would like to upgrade your jewelry, this will come at an additional cost, which your piercer will discuss with you during your piercing session. If you'd like to see our prices, please visit our piercing page. If you have questions about a particular piercing, please come into the studio to speak with one of our piercers today!
Do your piercing prices include jewelry?
Of course! Because you are a minor, we require a few additional items to get you pierced. First, the Florida Department of Health requires that we have a notarized consent form. We will keep this document on file until you are 18. You only have to do this form once as long as you return with the same parent/legal guardian that signs the form initially. A parent/legal guardian will fill out the form once you are in front of a notary. You both will present a form of government-issued identification. The notary will confirm your information, sign it, and stamp it.
You will bring this form to us at the shop with the parent/legal guardian who filled out the form. Both of you will present your government-issued identification to us. We will keep a copy of this information. If you would like additional piercings in the future, the parent/legal guardian guardian who filled out the form must be the one to come in with you in the future. You will both need IDs every time you come in for a service, but you will only need to fill out the consent form once.
If you have any additional questions about getting this form, filling it out, or the requirements involved, please call us at the studio for more information: 941.747.1700.
I'm under 18, can I get a piercing?
Short answer: no. We don't pierce babies because we require consent from the person being pierced. If the individual cannot consent to being pierced, we do not pierce them. Currently, the youngest age we pierce at our shop is 5 years old. Our piercing procedure uses needles, and this means that we need our clients to be able to sit still calmly without assistance from the parent/legal guardian to ensure everyone's safety.
If you have any questions regarding our age limits, please call us at our studio. We are happy to help.
Do you pierce babies?
Tattoo removal treatments vary greatly depending on many variables. Most patients need a minimum of 3 treatments, while others may need up to 10 or more. We take into consideration the age, size, and location of your tattoo, patient health, pre-existing scarring, type of tattoo ink used, ink density, ink depth, skin type, and other factors.
To allow the skin enough and immune system enough time to heal between treatments to flush out your shattered ink, it’s recommended to have a minimum six-week waiting period between each laser session – and eight weeks for darker complexions. Scheduling laser tattoo removal treatments too close together can cause damage and unwanted side effects to the skin as it doesn't allow the body enough time to remove the ink that was shattered at the most recent session.
How many treatments will I need?
The speed of removal depends on specific conditions related to the patient and their tattoo.
Using some of the factors taken into consideration in the Kirby-Desai scale, a commonly used tool for determining the number of treatments a tattoo will need for complete removal, Classic Ink Tattoo Removal can provide an estimate of the number of treatments required to remove specific tattoos. The Kirby-Desai scale accounts for several of the actors that affect the rate of removal:
Tattoo layering (if the tattoo is a cover-up)
Location on the body
Ink colors
Amount of ink (vividness of tattoo, if it was professionally applied)
Pre-existing scarring
Besides the factors listed above, there are others to consider. If a patient is physically fit and has a strong immune system, they will tend to see results faster than a patient with health problems. We encourage clients to exercise, drink ample water, and massage the treated area (once healed) to get the best results.
What other considerations affect removal times?
Classic Ink determines the price per treatment based on the size of the tattoo being treated. Virtually all tattoos require multiple treatments to target the varying layers of ink that make up a tattoo. We also provide treatment packages and special discounts to help save you more and to make tattoo removal an affordable option for all. All initial laser tattoo removal consultations are free.
How much does laser tattoo removal cost?
The laser sensation is often compared to a rubber band repeatedly snapping against the skin, but this varies from person to person. There is a level of discomfort that’s involved with laser tattoo removal, but most people can manage it without any pain reducing techniques. Ask about Classic Ink Tattoo Removal’s skin numbing solutions to relieve pain and maximize comfort.
Does the laser hurt?
Laser tattoo removal is the safest method for removing unwanted ink. Classic Ink uses the latest, most advanced laser technology to deliver the best treatments for every skin type. The most common side effects of laser tattoo removal are:
Redness
Tenderness
Swelling
Blistering
Scabbing
Bruising
Hyperpigmentation
Hypopigmentation
All these side effects are temporary and will heal over the 6 to 8 weeks following each laser session. Furthermore, these effects are natural reactions to treatment and positive signs that your immune system is eliminating the ink from your skin.
Are there any side effects?
Yes! At Classic Ink Tattoo Removal, most of our clients ask about lightening an older tattoo so that it can be easily covered up with a new tattoo. As body art experts, we can also make specific recommendations on which areas of your tattoo to lighten up to ensure the cover-up is easier to accomplish, which allows for a wider range of artwork to be selected.
Come into the studio for a free consultation. From there, we can discuss how laser tattoo removal works with the cover-up process. We’ll connect you with one of our talented tattoo cover-up artists once your tattoo is sufficiently faded.
Can you lighten for cover-ups?
All laser tattoo removal consultations and services are done on a walk-in basis only, Thursdays through Sundays, with Nurse Cathy. Walk-ins are done on a first-come, first-served basis and we do not accept appointments for laser tattoo removal.
How do I book a laser consultation/appointment?
The main aftercare process and healing process takes on average two to four weeks, however it might take as long as three to six months to fully heal depending on the tattoo and the individual. To ensure your tattoo remains looking beautiful for years to come, it is essential that you care for your tattoo until its fully healed.
The first week of the tattoo healing process usually involves swelling, some redness, mild soreness and a little oozing as your body tries to heal the tattoo externally with white blood cells.
The following two to three weeks generally consist of itchiness and peeling. Resist the urge to scratch and pick at the tattoo.
Week four and up, your tattoo should look mostly healed, however you may still have some shininess as the skin is still healing internally.
The best way to proper healing and to avoid infection is to keep your tattoo clean by following the aftercare listed below.
What can I expect?
These products have been put to the test by artists throughout our industry and proven to work best in healing. Tegaderm comes in many brands such as Saniderm, Recovery, Second Skin, etc. Each brand has slight variances in their adhesive formula.
Artist will put on a bandage when finished with the tattoo. Additional bandages are available for sale at the studio. The bandage stays on for up to 5 days. During this time, your tattoo will weep fluids of plasma, blood, and residual ink. This is completely normal. As long as that fluid is not leaking our of the bandage, leave it alone. If fluid is leaking out, then bacteria can leak in, and we recommend changing it.
Though rare, if you have an allergies to bandage adhesive, please let your artist know as we will recommend traditional aftercare methods.
What is a Tegaderm bandage?
Not interested in Tegaderm bandages? No problem. Follow our trusted traditional aftercare method.
The first time you wash the area should be within 1-2 hrs after getting your tattoo. Before doing anything, wash your hands thoroughly. With clean hands remove the bandage and discard. Using unscented antibacterial soap, gently create a sudsy lather using your hands and small circular motions over your new tattoo. The goal is to gently loosen any blood spotted areas. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Allow the tattoo to air dry or pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use a hand towel.
Apply a very thin layer of artist recommended lotion each time you wash the tattoo three (3) times a day. Your body is going to heal the tattoo, not the lotion. The lotion is for keeping your skin from drying out too much and to make the healing process more comfortable. A little goes a very long way, do not over lotion your tattoo. The area shouldn't even be shiny when your finished putting on lotion.
What is traditional aftercare?
Do:
Listen to your artist. We do this for a living.
Wear loose and clean clothing
Continue to shower and practice good hygiene
Call us if you have any questions or concerns about your aftercare. We want your new tattoo to heal beautifully just as much as you do. We are here to help.
Don't:
Do not listen to your friends and family that got a tattoo 10+ years ago. Times change and our industry is always improving on healing methods. We do this for a living. Please listen to us. We are not responsible for how your tattoo heals if you choose to follow someone else's advice.
Do not soak the tattoo in the bath, swimming pool, hot tub, or ocean
Do not allow animals to touch or lick your new tattoo. Keep your clothes and bed free of pet hair and dander.
Do not pick or scratch at the tattoo.
Do not go tanning or expose to direct sunlight.
Do not use Neosporin, Vaseline, or anything with large amounts of petroleum. Petroleum products used to be recommended years ago, but it turns out petroleum products will clog your pores, take your tattoo twice as long to heal, and will most likely end up with faded pigment.
What are the dos and don'ts?
Depending on the piercing, it may be normal to experience some of the following symptoms while healing your new piercing.
Minimal bleeding
Swelling
Tenderness
Itching
Bruising
Soreness
Formation of body crusties.
During the healing process it is common to expect some redness, itching, dryness, and a crust forming on the jewelry. If you do have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your piercer. We would rather you and your piercing be safe, rather than sorry.
What can I expect?
Healing times vary greatly depending on the piercing. While the average ear lobe could take around 8 weeks to heal, other piercings can take anywhere from 8 months to a year to fully heal.
Your lifestyle and daily routine can and most likely will effect your healing times as well. For example, if you're active and have a navel piercing, a lot of crunches and sit-ups at the gym could agitate the skin, however you could get the same effect if you have poor posture sitting down on the couch. Its best to be mindful of your piercing until its fully healed just to be safe.
When it doubt, give us a shout. We would rather have you come in so that we can assess whether your piercing is fully healed or not, before you attempt to change or take out the jewelry and you potentially run into complications. We're here to help.
How long will my piercing take to heal?
The best way to fully heal a piercing is to keep it clean with these two steps:
Step 1: Saturate the piercing using a sterile saline solution taking care to not touch the nozzle or spray top to the piercing.
Step 2: Carefully go over the affected area with a dry q-tip, removing any built up debris. This debris is usually from your body healing, be it dead skin cells or scabbing and is completely normal.
Avoid touching your piercing with bare hands to prevent bacterial build up or potential infection.
How do I clean my piercing?
Do:
Get pierced by experienced professionals and listen to your piercer.
Only touch new piercings with clean or gloved hands.
Remove "crusties" (dried lymph) with a saline-soaked swab.
Avoid alcohol and nicotine.
Do continue to shower as normal.
If you can medically take them, Advil, or any other anti-inflammatory, will help to reduce swelling in your piercing. Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory.
Call you piercer ASAP if you get a rash or have extreme swelling. We want your piercing to heal beautifully just as much as you do. We are here to help.
Don't:
Don't listen to friends or family that got pierced using a "piercing gun". This practice is often done by a unlicensed individual, is not safe, not hygienic, extremely unsanitary and causes unnecessary trauma to the area.
Don't play with your jewelry— Don't turn/slide it to loosen "crusties"
Don't clean with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or Neosporin
Don't over-clean your piercing
Don't swim, take baths or use hot tubs, and do not swim in the ocean. Ocean water is NOT the same as purified saline solution. Stay out of the ocean until fully healed.
Don't let others bodily fluids near your piercings
Don't sunbathe or use tanning beds
Don't clog your piercing with creams, oils, or makeup
What are the dos and don'ts?
Often times, customers think they have an infection where they actually have irritation, and a slight adjustment to aftercare will fix the issue. If you're concerned that you may have an infection, come in and see one of our knowledgeable piercers. Do not remove the jewelry if you can help it. One of our piercers can assist you with removing the jewelry if necessary.
